dude. i watched the backrooms movie yesterday. man i truthfully cannot keep these lips zipped i have been THE most obnoxious motherfucker the past day & a half i am going hog wild over this. heres the thing i LOVE the backrooms n when i say that i mean i have been all oooooover this internet psychological horror since that nothingburger 4chan post 1st started leaving its snail trail all over the net...ive always been deeply fascinated with the feeling that "liminal space" images give us as a species bc its not just kids who have been exposed & influenced with countless amounts of horror material based around the backrooms & based on those liminal space pictures we have all seen it goes WAY beyond that dude. u would think we only get that eerie feeling cuz its influenced by all that stuff we have seen when it really isnt. that shit comes built inside of us. Me n my dad r both mad geeks over this phenomenon & mad geeks over the movie. my dad grew up in the early 80's/90s n tells me these stories of how he would experience that same eerie dreadful feeling from places around his hometown in Mexico, sum stories include streets of newly built neighborhoods so there werent yet any people, cars, or trees around. MAN THIS WAS YEEEEEARS B4 THE INTERNET WAS EVEN A THING! THIS IS A HUMAN INSTINCT DUDE! IT COMES PRE-INSTALLED! i discussed this with my dad & even my girlfriend agrees that this feeling is something that comes in our biology & yet there is zero record of what could possibly b the evolutionary reasoning behind us having this instinctive fear of those images. i think it ties in with the uncanny valley we get with dolls, robots, or anything attempting 2 mimic the human face. i think its a crazy similar if not the exact same feeling. SO WHAT IS IT??? we r naturally set off by these things that feel vaguely familiar but that FEELING in our bones a shiver goes down our spine saying "HEY MAN... SOMETHING AINT RIGHT..." but got we just cant put our finger on what exactly gives us the uneasy feeling we just KNOW somethings up. whatever it is i dont think we will ever know...
i'unno man. that kinda shit fascinates me like nuthing else
anyway i jst realized i hadnt spoken a word ab the actual MOVIE in this entire blog like i originally planned...kinda started blib-blabbering there a lil bit wuhoopies. how bout this ill come back n expand on that tmrw cuz i gotta go catch me sum Z's now. peace

waddup playas. Thought id let it slip my mind? pssshhh nah. anyway lemme start off by saying i LOVE kane "pixels" parsons. i may be his most loyal diciple. his greatest tip tickler. ive been a BIIIIIIIIGGGG PHAAAAT fan of his work a good MINUTE now. i been following his stuff since the 1st ever backrooms video he posted & ill tell u that guy truly deserves every bit of fame hes getting he genuinely earned it n @ such a young age its hella inspiring. i think hes true 2 his craft n gives me hope in artists like myself keeping real art alive n its been crazy being there 4 the rise of his career n watching it go from sumthing so niche -> #1 film currently in theaters..BAD. ASS. also, lil off topic, but another big big reason y i admire him so much...besides the obvious insane skill hes got on 3d animation & the incredible work hes done with multiple yt series in the works...he happens 2 ALSO be a total geek over portal, half life, gmod, n source engine in general. LIKE DUDE! ME N THIS GUY SHOULD TOOOTALLY BE BUDS. im a big fan of his portal work, his sick ass half life fan music, & in general i dont think its subtle just how much inspiration hes gotten from source engine games n if u r an avid fan like me u would understand just how DEEPLY i appreciate that n how cool that is.
anyway i think what captivated me most about his series, not just the backrooms but also "the oldest view" & his newer series "people still live here", is how perfectly this guy can convey ideas & feelings that i thought nobody else could visualize or understand. with the backrooms specifically i think MOST PEOPLE...(PEOPLE THAT HAVE ANY BRAINS WHATSOEVER) would agree the internet kinda ruined the concept of the backrooms a hot minute there. the wiki backrooms is f*cking downright horrendous. i think that specific interpretation of the backrooms COMPLETELY stripped the original horror out of any meaning or substance n made it feel like roblox baby horror sloppy goo. WHY? Y do ppl NEED that type of coventional in-your-face "horror" with jumpscares & entities & "levels" that make it feel like a video game. y cant ppl enjoy psychological horror, the BEST kind of horror, anymore?? Man u wldnt fcking believe the amount of degenerates ive seen COMPLAINING that the backrooms movie wasnt based on the wiki version. r u retarded? r u 12 years old dude. Those people suck. if u dont get it then u dont get it.
i LOVE. LOOOOOOOOOOVE kane's version of the backrooms n i have since the very beginning. its different & its incredible. & the movie seriously brought it on a whole 'nother level. N if 4 sum reason u been reading this WITHOUT having seen the backrooms...the hells ur problem? GO WATCH IT DUDE!!!! TOTALLY WORTH IT!!!! N MATTERAFACT Y R U READING MY BLOG ABOUT A MOVIE U HAVENT SEEN? LOL. anyway. ever since the backrooms 1st surfaced the web n brought the concept of liminal spaces in the mainstream i was obsesseed dude I WAS LIKE 11 N I WAS INDISCRIBABLY FASCINATED LMAO. i alrdy talked ab this in part1 of this blog so im not gonna go n re-type alldat, point is i love the concept of the backrooms n the psychological horror of it & the FEELING it always gave me. & when i watched the internet muddy that concept practicially overnight it sucked maan. BUT i didnt let it ruin my vision. the backrooms, 2 ME, was this:
it was never a place u can touch, its kind of a concept thats between life n death. My idea was always u CAN "fall in" the backrooms but i thought itd be cooler if it was some sort of limbo. or a purgatory. The backrooms is sumwhere u can end up & u start out in the yellow rooms or whatever. & its nothing but rooms, endless abstract rooms. u keep walking, u exit the yellow rooms u find more abstract, liminal environments that FEEL familiar & FEEL like the reality ur used 2 but u know its just not. no entities none of that. Just u & infinity. the longer u explore the longer things make less sense. the longer u spend in there the longer u lose grip with the reality u came from & u start forgetting what it looked like, so ur surroundings start forgetting. the backrooms is the manifestation of ur subconscious trying 2 remember reality & what "normal" looks like, til it does. it REALLY IS hell & THATS what made me freaked out. psychological creepy horror not OOGA BOOGA AHHHHHH horror.
anyway, up til now i thought that my concept was the coolest interpretation & anything else was pretty stupid n i cldnt imagine any1 coming up with sumthing better. I WAS WRONGGG DUUUDE KANE RLLY FUCKING NAILED IT LMAO. i really enjoy his series interpretation of it a LOT. when the movie finally revealed where the backrooms "comes from" i was blown away dude genuinely gripping my head in the theater. the backrooms being a place that is made of memories & the still life entities being distorted memories of people is INSAAAAANE DUUUUUUUDE. im super happy with it. n im INSANELY happy with the backrooms movie. the themes, the sound design (also kane doing his thing), the camera takes & the characters dude its perfect. i do not give a flying fart about how different it is from the series bc honestly there was no better way that they could do it. i mean SERIOUSLY what did ppl expect? an hour & a half of vhs found footage? cmon dude if this movie was gonna succeed like it did they HAD 2 make it somewhat conventional & "polished" the way it is. they cldnt have the main entity be the bacteria lifeforms they needed something more readable, yk, 4 the general audience. Cuz lets face it not a lotta ppl went 2 watch the movie with prior knowledge of the series shit MOST PPL who watched it probly have no idea theres a series on youtube. the average viewer needs something more relatable & conventional. i think the direction kane took it was absolutely genius & they planned it perfectly. it was a solid mix between what i was expecting from the series & sumthing totally new that sum1 whos totally unfamiliar can still enjoy. N i do believe wherever kane goes from here with the backrooms, a 2nd movie? hes probly gonna get real creative next time now that hes got all the fame he needs. N im EXCITED.

Man i cannot get enough of this shit. fuck. like god damn they were on point when brewing this life-giving elixir. n imma be 100% with u i do not usually mess around w/ monster, or energy drinks in general. barely even soda. On occasion only bc im not big on sweets especially in my drinx. im probly the biggest fan of h2o that u will ever come across...but THIS. oh my goodness gracious... Happy fucking independence day brother this tastes str8 up like the sweat off the back of every patriot. word
